Word from the State Deputy
Welcome to the Knights of Columbus State Council New Brunswick Web Site.
The Knights of Columbus was founded on the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity, established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney,
assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent?
To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled, and needy members and their families.
Michael J. McGivney died at the age of 38 due to the Pandemic of 1889.
Today we have a pandemic and a lot of elderly, vulnerable, and people in need are affected by it mentally and
physically and some are dying from it. Some are scared to go out of their homes and have neglected their medications and food.
Some have died alone because they had no one to be with them.
The Knights of Columbus must again play a vital role in these hard times by contacting, helping,
and socializing (virtual or in person) with people in need. We must assist and communicate with them to let them know they are not alone.
Quote: Remember, whenever you are in the position to help someone, be glad and always do it because that's God answering someone else's prayers through you. Author unknown
We are over two million members strong across the world. Please enjoy our web site and learn
what we are all about and hopefully will want to join this Catholic organization.
